NRG Park guide

NRG Stadium parking: lots, prices and drop-off zones

During the Rodeo, the official NRG Park lots charge $25 per car, the Yellow Lot plus tax, and they are cashless. Rideshare drops at the east end of Yellow Lot 35, Rodeo-season limos and private buses use the Green Lot at Gate 13, and METRORail costs $1.25 a ride. For Texans games and concerts, check that event’s parking page. A chauffeured ride means no parking to buy.

NRG Park or Reliant Park?

Official Rodeo and venue pages now use both names for the same grounds, so you may meet NRG Park and Reliant Park in different places while planning one trip. The stadium, the arena and Reliant Center share one campus, and the parking lots around it are named by color.

Which NRG Park lots are open, and what do they cost?

The most detailed public lot list belongs to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, which publishes gates, hours and prices every season. Every on-site Rodeo lot is cashless, and free trams loop between the lots and the buildings.

  • For a Texans game or a stadium concert, buy parking through that event’s official link. Prices vary by event, and we do not repeat them here.
  • The Rodeo publishes a live lot-status page on event days, which tells you which lots are open or already full.
  • Pre-booked spaces from third-party apps and informal lots near the stadium are advertised every season. Local news has warned visitors about parking scams around NRG Park, so check who actually controls a lot before you pay.

How does parking change by event type?

Texans home games: the Houston Texans run the official rideshare area in the Yellow Lot, with the pickup side entered from Fannin Street. After the final whistle, the pickup tents stand in the Yellow Lot no matter which gate you leave by, whether Kroger Gate, East Club, Ford Gate or West Club.

The Rodeo, early March: on-site parking is limited, and the Rodeo’s own planning guide steers guests toward rideshare with a drop-off. Kirby Drive near the grounds closes at 9 p.m. on weekdays and 6 p.m. on weekends, which matters if you planned to park on that side.

The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, the weekend before the Rodeo: the 610 Lot stays open until 9:30 p.m., and Reliant Park warns there is no in-and-out once you park.

Where is accessible parking at NRG Park?

During the Rodeo, limited ADA spaces, including van-accessible ones, are held in the Blue Lot (Gate 9 off Kirby Drive) and the Yellow Lot, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., at $25. They go first come, first served, and you need a valid placard or registration.

Most satellite park-and-ride buses are accessible; the METRO-run Maxey lot is the exception. For a guest who uses a wheelchair or walks slowly, check the event’s accessible drop-off instructions, and tell us about mobility needs when you request the ride.

Can we take METRORail to NRG Stadium?

Yes. The Red Line serves the grounds, a one-way ride is $1.25, and Fannin South, the line’s southern end, is the station the Rodeo points visitors to. Note that 8181 Fannin St is a rail stop address, not the stadium, which trips up many first-time riders and rideshare drivers.

Northbound trains run until about 1:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 11:24 p.m. on Sunday. Southbound service runs to about 3:20 a.m. Monday through Saturday and 1:15 a.m. on Sunday. A Sunday concert that ends late can therefore outlast the northbound trains.

How does the Rodeo park and ride work?

In Rodeo season, satellite lots run shuttles to the grounds, so you park miles away and ride in. Prices differ by lot, and the last buses set the shape of your night.

  • The last bus from a satellite lot to the grounds generally leaves around 9 p.m.
  • The last bus back to the lots leaves the grounds at 1 a.m. Sunday to Thursday and 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • From The Woodlands, a separate reservation-only Rodeo Express shuttle runs from 701 Westridge Dr.

Where do rideshare and private cars drop off?

Rideshare and taxis use the east end of Yellow Lot 35, nearest Lantern Point and McNee Road. Cars enter through Yellow Lot 16B off Main Street, south of McNee, and riders are picked up at the same spot.

A friend dropping you in a private car (not a rideshare) uses Gate 9 off Kirby Drive at 8825 Kirby Dr, subject to the evening Kirby closures.

Limousines and private buses have their own published zone during the Rodeo: the Green Lot, Gate 13, off Lantern Point Drive. Space there is limited, it works first come, first served, and drivers follow the parking attendants. This is the lane a chauffeured vehicle uses, separate from the rideshare crowd.

How do we walk from the drop-off to the stadium?

From the Yellow Lot 35 area, the published walking routes are the South Kirby Pedestrian Bridge for the stadium’s south side, and the North Kirby Pedestrian Bridge or the crossing at Kirby and McNee for the north side. The Rodeo does not publish distances, so allow extra time for older guests and small children.

Drive and park, rail, rideshare, park and ride or a chauffeur?

Parking and shuttle figures below are the Rodeo’s own, rail fares are METRO’s, and our prices come from our rate card for a 3-hour hourly booking.

How does a chauffeured drop-off at NRG work?

We collect you at home, a hotel or the office, drive to the zone the event designates for private vehicles, and agree the pickup point with you by text before kickoff or the first act. For a family of up to six, a Chevrolet Suburban for a 3-hour block is $255.00 on our rate card, the same for pickups in Downtown, Galleria, the Texas Medical Center, IAH, Hobby, The Woodlands, Katy and Sugar Land. Other pickup areas, longer nights and multi-vehicle groups are quoted by text.

Every request is confirmed by text or phone within 15 minutes, any hour of the day. You get a receipt by email, and companies can be invoiced, which suits client hospitality at a Texans game. Stretch limousines, SUV limos and party buses are available from our partners on request.

Questions

How much is parking at NRG Stadium?

During the Rodeo, the official on-site lots are $25 per car (the Yellow Lot adds tax) and are cashless. Satellite park and ride ranges from free parking with a $4 to $7 round-trip shuttle to $25 per car. For Texans games and concerts, prices are set per event, so check that event’s official parking link before you leave.

Where is the rideshare drop-off at NRG Stadium?

At the east end of Yellow Lot 35, nearest Lantern Point and McNee Road. Drivers enter through Yellow Lot 16B off Main Street, south of McNee, and pickup happens at the same place. On Texans game days the pickup tents are in the Yellow Lot, whichever gate you exit from.

Where do limos drop off at NRG Park?

During the Rodeo, limousines and private buses use the Green Lot, Gate 13, off Lantern Point Drive (8499 Lantern Point Dr). Space is limited and first come, first served, and drivers follow the attendants. For other events we confirm the private-vehicle zone for your date by text before the ride.

Is NRG Stadium parking cash only?

No, the opposite. The official on-site lots are cashless during the Rodeo, so bring a card or phone wallet. At the Bar-B-Que contest the admission gate also goes cashless from 9 p.m. each night. If a stranger waves you into a cash lot near the stadium, treat it with caution.

Which METRORail stop is closest to NRG Stadium?

The Red Line serves the grounds, and the Rodeo directs visitors to Fannin South, the line’s southern terminus, where the park and ride includes free rail passes. Keep in mind that 8181 Fannin St is a rail stop address, not the stadium. A one-way fare is $1.25.

Where is handicap parking at NRG Park?

In Rodeo season, limited ADA and van-accessible spaces are in the Blue Lot at Gate 9 off Kirby Drive and in the Yellow Lot, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., for $25. They are first come, first served and need a valid placard or registration. Most satellite shuttles are accessible, except at the Maxey lot.

Can I leave and come back to my parking spot?

The no-in-and-out rule is confirmed for the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, where Reliant Park states you cannot leave and re-enter once parked; check other events separately. If your group needs to come and go, a chauffeur on an hourly booking stays with your booking for the whole block.

What time do the park and ride buses stop?

During the Rodeo, the last bus from the satellite lots to the grounds generally leaves around 9 p.m. The last bus back leaves the grounds at 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Bar-B-Que contest nights run slightly later on the outbound side.

Is a private car worth it for a Texans game?

It depends on the group. For two people, compare rail, event parking and the live rideshare price. For six to thirteen people who want to arrive and leave together, one Suburban or Sprinter replaces several parking passes or app rides, and the pickup point is agreed in advance. Companies hosting clients also get an invoice.
